New Business Development Principal - Bangalore

This position is based in Bangalore, India.

The New Business Development group works with Product, Engineering and other teams on new product incubation and exploratory efforts, technology and meta-data licensing, strategic partnerships, urgent special projects, and alternative distribution for existing and new business initiatives. Our team consists of creative, entrepreneurial, highly organized leaders, well versed in a broad range of technologies, who can spot opportunities, evaluate inbound inquiries, build partnerships, collaborate with many internal functional groups globally, and negotiate and close business deals.

Google is looking for a New Business Development Principal to work closely with the Google product team on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships. Responsibilities include using expert judgment to identify and evaluate partnership opportunities, lead exploratory discussions, present recommendations to the management team, open doors, negotiate and close business deals. Our ideal candidate is a top performer who has a deep interest in Google products and past business development experience in the technology industry.

Broad deal and partnership experience, and an ability to excel with a broad range of constituents (product, engineering, marketing, sales, legal and top external executives) is a must. In order to succeed in this group, you also must be entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, and adaptive. When interacting with internal and external clients, you will need to posses sound judgment, be persistent and action oriented, and be highly collaborative.

The principal level will also include management and mentoring within the New Business Development team. The ability to lead teams, and provide thought leadership and guidance to managers and associates is a must.

Responsibilities:
Identify and (Co-)Lead exploratory discussions with potential partners.
Create and structure new business agreements/models; license technology.
Introduce, evaluate and recommend opportunities to the management team.
Negotiate and close strategic and revenue deals; and manage existing partners.
Communicate and collaborate with a broad range of internal and external constituents (product team, engineering, marketing, sales, legal and top executives).
Provide thought leadership to NBD team and guidance to managers and associates.
Requirements:
BA/BS or equivalent required, MBA a plus.
Minimum 10+ years previous work experience including 5+ years of related experience in business development, partner management, product management or product marketing in industries relevant to Google.
Extensive experience identifying partners, analyzing and facilitating complex deal structures with a proven track record of deal negotiation and execution.
Deep understanding of the tech industry, with a passion for Google products with the ability to quickly learn about new technologies.
In-depth experience operating within and leading cross-functional teams (product management, implementation, legal, finance, marketing, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to formulate and articulate contractual, technical, financial and value points with partners and internal Google teams.
High level of comfort escalating and presenting key deal issues to Google senior management when appropriate; solution-oriented mind-set a must.
Ability to manage several time-sensitive project/deals at once in a fast paced environment with minimal direction.
Highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative.
Ability to oversee and advise new business development managers and associates in the nuances of their deal work.
Strong attention to detail.
